Orange Sierra Leone once again demonstrated its leadership in digital innovation and youth empowerment by hosting the grand finale of the Orange Esport Experience – University Tournament SL 2025 on Friday, drawing top student gamers from universities across the country.

Held in an electrifying atmosphere filled with competition, camaraderie, and creativity, the event brought together gaming teams from Fourah Bay College, IPAM, Njala University, UNIMAK, Canadian College, Milton Margai, and other institutions, showcasing the growing popularity and impact of esports in Sierra Leone.

The highlight of the evening was the presence of Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, who graced the occasion with words of encouragement and personal reflections. His connection with the audience was immediate and genuine, especially when he revealed his own interest in gaming.

“I enjoy gaming myself; I often play PS5 during my quiet moments at home,” Minister Sannoh shared, sparking loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

He commended Orange Sierra Leone and its partners for investing in youth development through innovative platforms like the Esport Experience, which goes beyond entertainment to foster digital skills, teamwork, and leadership among young people.

“Esports is more than just a game. It’s a global industry creating jobs, building communities, and inspiring creativity,” the Minister said. “This initiative is helping to prepare our youth for the digital economy, and I encourage all participants to pursue their passion with discipline and vision.”

The event was a celebration not just of gaming, but of youth potential and the possibilities of the digital age. Orange Sierra Leone’s initiative continues to align with national efforts to promote technology, entrepreneurship, and inclusive digital education, making it a key partner in the country’s development agenda.

The Esport Experience, now a flagship youth engagement platform, is part of Orange’s broader commitment to innovation, digital inclusion, and community empowerment across Sierra Leone.
