A middle-aged timber retailer from the east end of Freetown has won an incredible NLe655,000 (USD28,636) from a NLe10 stake in the Mercury International Bookmaker product.
Abu Sesay’s winning strategy involved placing NLe5 on 15 teams across two tickets, focusing on the half with the most goals. After the 15% government tax deduction, he received NLe556,000
Sesay stated that this was his biggest win since he started betting with Mercury International in 2017 and expressed his excitement about the outcome.
He plans to invest a portion of his winnings into his business and expressed gratitude to Mercury International for their prompt payment.
Sabieu Mansaray, the marketing strategist for Mercury International’s Sports Betting and Lottery Company, congratulated Sesay on being the company’s first major winner of 2025, and highlighted the bonus for bets with five or more teams.
