Orange Sierra Leone has been re-certified as a top employer for 2026 by the Top Employers Institute, maintaining its position as the first telecommunications operator in the country to earn and retain the prestigious recognition.
The re-certification follows a rigorous, independent assessment of the company’s human resource practices and underscores Orange Sierra Leone’s commitment to building a high-performing, inclusive and engaging workplace. The recognition highlights the company’s data-driven people practices, strong talent development focus, and long-term investment in sustainable capabilities that support both business growth and socio-economic development.
According to the Top Employers Institute, certification is awarded after an extensive evaluation through its HR best practices survey, which examines organisations across six core domains. These include people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning and development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and employee wellbeing, among other critical people practices.
Commenting on the achievement, Adrian Seligman, chief executive officer of the Top Employers Institute, said the certification reflects Orange Sierra Leone’s dedication to building an outstanding workplace aligned with organisational goals.
“Their strong alignment between people strategy and organisational goals, combined with a commitment to continuous improvement, demonstrates the impact of their transformative practices,” Seligman noted, adding that the institute is proud to recognise the company’s contribution to a better world of work in Sierra Leone.
The country top employer certification provides organisations with access to globally benchmarked insights, expert validation and proven best practices. Certified companies also benefit from enhanced employer branding, improved decision-making, and opportunities to engage with a global community of leading employers.
Reacting to the announcement, Madam Aicha Touré, chief executive officer of Orange Sierra Leone, described the certification as a strong endorsement of the company’s people-first culture.
“It reinforces our ambition to be the employer of choice by continuously investing in our employees, promoting inclusion, and creating an environment where talent can thrive,” she said.
Similarly, Agnes M. Songa, human resources director at Orange Sierra Leone, said the re-certification affirms the company’s focus on delivering a positive and enriching employee experience through continuous learning, career development and supportive workplace practices.
The Top Employers Institute has certified more than 2,500 organisations across 131 countries, recognising companies that place people at the centre of their business strategies and demonstrate excellence in human resources management.
Orange Sierra Leone, a subsidiary of the Orange Group, is licensed by the National Communications Authority and remains one of the country’s leading telecommunications providers, with a stated commitment to delivering responsible and innovative digital services that support national development.
