Orange Sierra Leone welcomes new CEO Aicha Toure

By Foday Moriba Conteh

Orange Sierra Leone today officially welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer Madam Aicha Toure, following a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Freetown.

Madam Toure arrived with outgoing CEO Sekou Amadou Bah, and was warmly received by senior management and staff, marking an important leadership transition for the telecommunications company as it continues to expand digital and mobile services across the country.

After the welcome event, Madam Toure was taken on a guided tour of key company facilities by the outgoing CEO and the Human Resources Manager, Agnes Songa. The tour covered departments at the Hill Station head office, the Orange Digital Centre, home to Orange Foundation Sierra Leone, the Orange Money Office, and the Orange Data Centre on Spur Road.

During the visit, the new CEO met staff from various units, who expressed excitement about her appointment and pledged their full support in working with her to achieve the company’s strategic goals.

Madam Toure brings over 12 years of international experience in telecommunications, technology, and financial services. She joined the Orange Group in 2017 as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Orange Mali, where she led key projects, including the expansion of 4G services, fiber connectivity, and energy access.

In 2019, she became CEO of Orange Money Mali, where she successfully grew the company into the leading mobile money service in the country and the largest within the Orange Group.

She holds a master’s degree in engineering from Centrale Supélec and an Executive MBA from MIT as a Sloan Fellow. Madam Toure is widely known for her strong commitment to digital and financial inclusion across Africa.

Her appointment is expected to further strengthen Orange Sierra Leone’s mission to deliver innovative, inclusive, and customer-focused digital solutions, while supporting Sierra Leone’s broader socio-economic development.
