Napoleon Koroma dismisses Fatima Bio’s Le1 billion claim as ‘baseless’

Former SLPP secretary general, lawyer Umaru Napoleon Koroma has pushed back strongly against First Lady Fatima Bio’s allegation that Le1 billion went missing from the party’s account during the tenure of the previous executive.

Describing the accusation as “baseless,” lawyer Koroma insisted that all financial transactions under the former leadership were executed transparently and supported by proper documentation.

“I want to clarify unequivocally that no funds went missing. All expenses made under our leadership followed proper procedures and were supported by legitimate documentation,” he said.

The First Lady recently claimed she personally mobilised and deposited Le1 billion into the SLPP’s account, but alleged the money later “disappeared,” implying financial impropriety within the former executive, of which lawyer Koroma served as national secretary general.

Lawyer Koroma countered that the funds in question were not solely mobilised by the First Lady but were proceeds from a broader SLPP fundraising activity. He added that he fully welcomes an independent audit of the outgone executive and its management of party finances.
