Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has reinforced Sierra Leone’s reputation as a bastion of religious harmony, emphasizing the country’s unity during the holy month of Ramadan.
During his first Ramadan Jumah prayer at the Masjid Muhagireen mosque in the Kroo Bay community, the vice president urged the Muslim ummah to contemplate their role in fostering peace and national development.
“I call on the ummah to reflect on the part each of us plays in nurturing peace, unity, and progress in our nation,” he said, echoing his previous message that Sierra Leone remains a model of peaceful coexistence between religious groups.
Underscoring his commitment to national cohesion, VP Jalloh highlighted the concurrent observance of fasting by both Muslims and Christians, encouraging citizens to embrace their shared values.
“I wish to remind you all that, as our Christian brothers and sisters also undertake this period of fasting and reflection, we must focus on the factors that unite us as a people, especially our desire for a peaceful and prosperous Sierra Leone,” he added.
The vice president’s remarks align with the government’s ongoing efforts to promote religious harmony, a defining characteristic of Sierra Leone’s social fabric.
VP Jalloh’s engagement with the Kroo Bay community underscores the government’s dedication to inclusivity and collective progress during this sacred period.
