The leading flagbearer aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, has expressed strong confidence in the party’s resurgence, assuring members that they would reclaim State House in the next presidential and general elections slated for 2028.
In an interview with the Fritong Post, Dr. Bangura said the APC is well positioned as the much-needed alternative to what he described as a “failed SLPP regime.”
Bangura’s optimism stems from his extensive nationwide tour during Ramadan, where he conveyed messages of hope and solidarity to APC grassroots supporters.
He visited almost every district, re-energizing party faithfuls and solidifying their determination to win the 2028 presidential and general elections through democratic means.
His efforts to connect with the people were further exemplified by the distribution of food items to various communities as Iftar during the ‘holy month’.
Dr. Bangura also criticized the Bio-led government for its poor management of the economy. He said the government’s maladroit handling of the economy, coupled with pervasive waste and corruption, has severely impacted the lives of ordinary citizens.
He highlighted the dramatic increase in commodity prices, particularly food, energy, and building materials, since the SLPP assumed power. Bangura attributed this economic downturn to what he labeled as an “incompetent and irresponsible administration” of the country’s economy.
Dr. Bangura urged APC supporters to remain law-abiding and committed to their cause. He expressed unwavering confidence that, once elected as the party’s presidential candidate for 2028, he would successfully lead them back to State House.
His message resonates with those who are disillusioned with the current economic climate and yearn for a change in leadership at the seat of power.
